Applied Fire Dynamics
Class Description:
3 1/2 hr class
Evening Session 12:30 Till 4:00 P.M.
Applied Fire Dynamics and Fire Behavior
This class explores the basic principles of fire chemistry, fire behavior, and fire dynamics while combining it with current data and information from NIST studies and Underwriters Laboratories testing.
It will cover subjects such as heat transfer, fire behavior, compartment fire dynamics, and extreme fire behavior such as flashover and backdrafts by combining lecture with videos of the topics discussed.
Following the lecture portion of the class, there will be a hands-on demonstration of the individual fire behavior principles followed by a live burn in a ¼ scale compartment to allow participants to witness extreme fire behavior in a controlled setting.
