Today's fireground is not the same as it was 25 years ago.    Buildings have changed, PPE has increased and yes, 
FIRES are HOTTER!
Our class will start with a Powerpoint discussing these modern day fireground hazards. Following the classroom portion, students will use different props to enhance their basic fireground skills. Topics such as Forcible Entry, Search, Laddering, Ventilation and Survival / R.I.T. will be addressed.

Firefighter Survival

The LTBHMFS is proud to announce that Firefighter Survival as one of our courses for 2011. Annually, Firefighters are killed on the fireground in situations that could have been resolved through training. This intense, physical, hands on training is a must for any interior attack firefighter.

    The Firefighter Survival course will give you some tools to use if you find yourself lost, trapped, disoriented, cut off by fire, caught by collapse, entangled in wire, etc. This class will require a firm grasp on the use of SCBA and will push you mentally and physically.  Full PPE including SCBA are required.

    In the heat of battle, when things go wrong, you will rely on instinct….which is really your training. You will make a decision. This Firefighter Survival training will give you the options to make the RIGHT decision to ensure everyone goes home.


Junior Fire Fighter Program

This program is intended for the Junior Fire Fighter ages 14  and up. Topics in the class will include Federal and State Child Labor Laws and restrictions, fire ground operations including vehicle purposes, ladders, ventilation, and water supply along with terminology. Hands on training with hose line advancements and loading as well as SCBA assistance. 
Students need to bring their on gear and SCBA with spare cylinder if possible.
